Set in a stately classic home in Laren, in the heart of Het Gooi, this kitchen is a sophisticated blend of old-world charm and modern refinement. Designed by Maaike Schmeets of Heiligland and handcrafted by justustjebbo, it’s a space that exudes warmth, depth, and quiet elegance—defined by refined materials and meticulous details.

Dark Oak with an Artisan Soul
The cabinetry is made from dark-stained oak, treated with an oil finish that celebrates the natural grain of the wood while allowing it to age gracefully over time. Throughout the kitchen, you’ll find subtle, hand-finished woodworking details that speak to traditional craftsmanship—elevating this kitchen beyond the functional into something truly bespoke.

Emperador Marble Sophistication
Topping the base cabinetry is a rich Emperador marble worktop. Its deep brown tones and delicate veining bring a luxurious, grounded texture to the space—perfectly complementing the dark oak and adding depth and drama without overwhelming the senses.

Architectural Presence with a Soft Divide
A central feature of this kitchen is the floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, which acts as both storage and architectural element—subtly dividing the space without closing it off. Integrated within are sliding doors with fluted glass, which provide a soft visual transition between rooms while diffusing natural light. These details give the space a rhythm and elegance that feel both classic and contemporary.

Hidden Functionality & a Delightful Surprise
Discretion is a hallmark of this design. A seamlessly built-in fridge is tucked into the walk-through area, practically invisible to the eye. And one of the most charming features: a dedicated coffee station, revealed behind a sleek back-sliding door. It’s a small but luxurious gesture that brings both function and delight to the everyday.
