A Warm Statement: Walnut & White Kitchen in Amsterdam’s Helmersbuurt

Design by justustjebbo

In the heart of the Helmersbuurt in Amsterdam, we’ve crafted a kitchen that balances architectural presence with soft elegance. This unique composition plays with contrast and texture, combining rich walnut cabinetry with sculptural white forms. It’s a kitchen designed not only to function beautifully—but to feel like part of the home’s soul.

Floor-to-Ceiling Walnut Elegance

The kitchen’s striking back wall is entirely clad in floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, meticulously crafted from carefully selected walnut. The natural grain and warm tone of the wood bring depth and intimacy to the space. Each cabinet is seamlessly fitted, offering a sense of quiet luxury while providing generous storage without visual clutter.

A Functional Niche with Calacatta Gold

At the heart of the wall unit lies a thoughtfully carved-out niche—home to a thin worktop, a Quooker tap, and a stunning Calacatta Gold marble backsplash. The veining of the marble adds a refined focal point, while a subtle shelf above the tap, with integrated dimmable lighting, provides both ambiance and practicality.

Sculptural Contrast: The Island

In front of the warm walnut wall stands a striking contrast: a white, organically shaped island that feels sculptural and soft. Its smooth, rounded form is fully clad in white, creating a calm centerpiece. A seamless integrated Bora cooktop is perfectly integrated into the surface, preserving the island’s clean silhouette. On the rear side, Miele ovens are subtly built in—discreetly tucked away from direct view, preserving the island’s seamless appearance.

A Hidden Gem in the Helmersbuurt

This kitchen reflects the atmosphere of its Amsterdam neighborhood: stylish yet unpretentious, intimate yet confident. It’s a space that invites you to gather, cook, and live—with every detail considered, and every material carefully chosen.
